Almeria striker, Umar Sadiq, has been named Spanish Segunda Player of The Month for February beating Huesca’s midfielder, Jaime Seoane, and Eibar’s, José Corpas to the award.
The 25-year-old who has been in superb form for the LaLiga promotion hopefuls this season scored five goals and provided two assists in all four league matches played in February, taking his tally to 13 after matchday 30.
The award is Sadiq’s second individual accolade since arriving at the club in the summer of 2020 having won the award in January 2021.
Sadiq will be handed the award before Almeria’s match against Lugo on Saturday.
Since joining the club from Serbian side Partizan Belgrade in the summer of 2020, the Nigeria international has scored 36 goals providing 16 appearances in 69 games across all competitions for the club.
His form this season has seen him become a transfer target for some of the top LaLiga sides including Sevilla who have been told to pay €60m for his services.
