A United Kingdom-based actor, Sal Jobe, has said that acting in the popular movie franchise, Star Wars, was a life-changing moment in his career and life.
He said, “Without a doubt, Star Wars is the biggest production I have ever featured in. Indeed, it was a life changing experience.”
On what inspired him to pursue a career in acting, Jobe said, “I have always been a big fan of movies since I was a child. I wanted to be able to tell any story and appeal to large audiences, with the attempt to motivate them each time I appear on their screens.”
Jobe also stated that he would love to act in movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series. He said, “I think it’s the dream of many actors to play a character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That is what I would to be a dream role. It does not matter whether it is a good or bad character.”
Speaking on the challenges that dog his career, the actor said, “I have had the door closed in my face time and again. I have also missed out on many opportunities. I was told I could not do certain things but I went ahead to do them and prove people wrong.
“Also, most of my casting calls are in London because that is where I live here. I would like to work more in Africa and the United States of America, and I am currently working hard to make sure that happens.”
On the qualities one needs to make it in the global film industry, he said, “Consistent hard work, connections, continued self-development, a good agent and patience to an extent.”
Spearing some advice for aspiring actors, Jobe said, “Work hard and have a positive attitude. Make connections and learn as much about the craft as possible. Also, don’t be afraid to take opportunities when they come. Lastly, don’t be afraid to start where you are with what you have.”
