The Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, has charged graduates of the institution to assume the role of solution providers, in their onerous quest to make impact against the myriad challenges besetting the country.
Olatunji-Bello made this known to reporters on Wednesday in Lagos during the commencement of the 25th Convocation Ceremony of the institution, slated for March 16, to March 24.
The PUNCH learnt that no fewer than 112 of the 7,232 of the graduating students were expected to bag First Class degrees.
“These graduands have fulfilled the requirements for the award of the degrees of this great institution.
“I congratulate them, their parents and guardians. To continue doing us proud, I urge them to prove themselves by being solution providers. I wish them the very best as they enter the next phase of their lives,” Olatunji-Bello remarked.
She reiterated the institution’s commitment toward helping the ‘future leaders’ attain their set-objectives in life, with emphasis on a solution-driven mindset.
“Only recently, we secured approval to establish three new faculties and one school, namely: Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, and Faculty of Environmental Sciences, among other initiatives.
“Others include: School of Library, Archival and Information Science, which is the first in West-Africa and second in Africa.
“I am confident that with the support of all our stakeholders and by the grace of God, we will achieve many more within a short period,” the VC stated.
