Union Berlin striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, will be hoping to score his first goal against leaders Bayern Munich when both sides clash at the Allianz Arena on Saturday in a German Bundesliga match-up.
The capital side will be hoping to take advantage of Bayern’s faltering form in the league in their last two games when they clash on Saturday.
The Bavarians have struggled recently, and were held 1-1 by Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim in their last two outings.
It’s Awoniyi’s third game against the German giants in the Bundesliga and he’s yet to see his side win, having drawn 1-1 in April 2021 at the Allianz Arena then losing 5-2 at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei in October.
Union are currently eighth on the log and a win will further help them in achieving their dreams of playing in Europe next season. The club will also be banking on Awoniyi, who has scored twice in their last three league games.
Awoniyi’s countryman Anthony Utah will be hoping to make his third league appearance against the Bavarians after returning from a knee injury.
He will also be hoping to get his name on the score sheet for the first time since June 27, 2020.
