Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has revealed the debt left by his predecessor, Willie Obiano.
He spoke on Tuesday during an interview with Arise TV.
According to Soludo, Obiano left ₦300 million cash and a debt of over ₦400 billion as of December 2021.
The former Central Bank Governor further stated that other financial details from January to date is not available.
He, however, noted that the details will be made available as soon as possible because they’re public documents.
This is coming after the Economic and Financial Crimes (EFCC) arrested Obiano at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
Obiano was reportedly on his way to the United States of America after handing over to Soludo.
The anti-graft agency subsequently transferred Obiano to the headquarters of the commission, where he was quizzed for days over alleged mismanagement of N42bn and inflated contract.
Obiano is still in the custody of the commission despite being granted bail, following his inability to perfect his bail condition.
