The kidnapped son of the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Professor Ali Isa Pantami, has been reportedly found at a checkpoint in Bauchi.
According to Daily Trust, the Minister’s son, Alamin Isa Pantami, was found on Friday at a checkpoint in Dambam, a Local Government Area in Bauchi State, some hours after he was allegedly kidnapped.
It was, however, not confirmed if any ransom was paid to get him rescued.
Alamin was said to be living with his grandmother.
One of Alamin’s guardians who confirmed his release said, “We just left the house; he is back home now. He was found in Dambam, where his abductors dropped him. They dropped him at a checkpoint and from there, he was brought home.”
The Chief Imam of Isa Ali Jummaat Mosque, Imam Hussaini, who was also contacted said that the boy was home.
Meanwhile, the Police said the matter was not reported. The Police Public Relations Officer in Bauchi, Mohammed Ahmed Wakil told newsmen that after he was contacted over the issue, he reached out to all the Divisional Police Officers in the metropolis who said the matter was not reported.
According to him, all we require from members of the public is to assist us with credible information on the movement of dubious characters in their midst for necessary action, and if there is any problem they should report to the police.
