Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has commiserated with the labor unions and the family of the state Chairman of Trade Union Congress, Mr. Akinsola Akinwunmi, who died in the Monday Abuja-Kaduna train attack.
The condolence message was contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Rafiu Ajakaiye, and made available to newsmen in Ilorin on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the governor conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and other comrades of the union leader as well as the labor communities in the state.
He prayed to God to console everyone affected by the untimely demise of the union leader, who he described as a fine gentleman at this very sad moment.
“I also condole with the families of other victims of the attack.
“The tragic incident, like those before it, is an attack on all the people of Nigeria. We are confident that the security agencies will not spare any resources to get the criminals behind it, as already directed by the President.
“Terrorism and terrorists will not defeat our collective resolve to live in peace and harmony,” the statement read in part.
AbdulRazaq, however, urged security agencies to do their best to rescue all the abducted persons alive, while ensuring the terrorists behind the incident were arrested and made to face the law.
