The Mind Builders School, Ogba, Lagos State, has confirmed an attempted attack on a pupil of the school by suspected ritualists.
The school assured parents that security measures were in place to guarantee the safety of their children.
PUNCH Metro had reported that a mother was about to drop off her kid at the school when a suspect, Temitayo Olafisoye, attempted to take over the car.
The woman was said to have raised the alarm, leading to Olafisoye’s arrest.
The Education Director of Mind Builders, Mrs Bolajoko Falore, in a statement on Tuesday, said the prompt intervention of security guards led to the arrest of the suspect, while his accomplice fled.
She said, “A two-man gang of kidnappers attempted to kidnap a pupil of the school at our Omole Phase One annexe while the parent was dropping off the child on Monday, 28th March 2022 in the morning. Thanks to the vigilance of the security men and staff that made it impossible. One of the kidnappers, who confessed that they had been kidnapping many children in Lagos State for some time, was arrested and handed over to the police at the Ojodu Police Station for a thorough investigation.”
