No fewer than nine travellers along Osubi-Abraka Road in Delta State were reportedly killed on Wednesday in an auto crash involving a Lexus jeep and a Picnic commercial vehicle.
Witnesses said the accident occurred at about 2pm when the Lexus jeep reportedly rammed into the Picnic commercial car.
All passengers on board the commercial car were said to have died on the spot just after Osubi community, near Warri.
The ill-fated commercial car with full passengers onboard was said to be heading towards Abraka before the accident occurred.
Details of what led to the accident were still sketchy just as the corpses of the deceased passengers were yet to be evacuated from the scene as of the time of time of filing this report.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, confirmed the auto crash, saying that “five people were confirmed dead in the accident.”
