The All Progressives Congress, on Thursday, formally commenced its campaigns for the April 11 local government election in Katsina State.
Governor Aminu Masari led prominent APC chieftains in Katsina to the event, which took place at the Kankia Township Stadium.
Party chieftains from all the 34 Local Government Areas of the state were also in attendance.
The governor presented the APC flags to all the party’s chairmanship and councillorship candidates at the council election.
Masari, in a brief remark at the event, urged party faithful and supporters to ensure victory for all its candidates in the election.
APC aspirants for elective offices in the 2023 general election also stormed the event with their supporters.
Chairman of Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission, Mallam Ibrahim Bako, had in January, revealed that the council election in the state will hold on Monday, April 11, 2022.
He made the disclosure at a press conference in Katsina.
The Peoples Democratic Party had since flagged off its campaigns for the council election.
