Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, said on Saturday that the time had come for lawmakers at the National and state assemblies to have a robust debate on resource control and state police.
Makinde said this in the keynote address he delivered at the Conference of Presiding Officers of Nigeria Legislature.
The governor said debates on resource control and state police had become imperative irrespective of political affiliations.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Taiwo Adisa, quoted Makinde in a statement on Saturday as saying that democratic governance must ensure equitable service delivery in a statement on Saturday.
Makinde said introduction of state police would help in routing insecurity in the states and across the country.
He urged the legislators to pay closer attention to some of the neglected conversations around constitution amendments
