The GoNigeria Initiative has announced the winners of the Digital Poetry Challenge.
The group also stated that it was set for the second quarter of the contest this year.
The winner of the first prize, Diana Modeme, was awarded N1m.
However, the second prize was awarded to David Odiase, aka 78th Psalmist, while the third prize was given to Abdullai Idi-Dabiru, who got N600,000 and N400,000 respectively.
Encouraged by the positive response of Nigerian youths to the Q1 2022 poetry challenge, GoNigeria is embarking on a second challenge that will also be anchored by the renowned poet, Dike Chukwumerije.
Entries for the Q2 poetry challenge will open on Monday, 11 April, 2022 and close on Thursday, 30 June, 2022.
Only Nigerian youths aged between 18 and 34 are eligible to participate.
The contest requires participants to do a 45-second spoken word video while holding their Permanent Voter Cards and emphasising the importance of getting their PVCs and encouraging other youths to go register and pick up their voter cards, whilst playing with the acronym PVC in the video.
Contestants are required to ensure a strong visual display of their PVCs in their videos as a prop which must also involve wordplay around with the acronym ‘PVC’, and then post their video using the #GoNigeriaPoetryChallenge, tagging @anapfoundation.
Any video longer than 45 seconds will be automatically disqualified.
