The Osun State Government has commiserated with the family of Olukoyi of Ikoyi in Isokan South Local Council Development Authority, Oba Oyetunji Otunla, who died on Tuesday.
The PUNCH reports that the monarch ascended the throne in 1987 and reigned for 35 years. He died after a brief illness.
The Osun state Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Funke Egbemode, in a statement on Tuesday, said the monarch joined his ancestors at the age of 75.
The statement read, “the 35-year reign of Oba Yisau Bamitale Oyetunji Otunla was notable for utmost commitment and love for his people. He will be greatly missed.
“The government and the good people of Osun pray God grants him eternal rest, and his family and the entire Ikoyi town the fortitude to bear the loss.”
