The senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District and All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in the state, Uba Sani, has unveiled a 47-man-campaign committee ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election in the state.
The PUNCH had reported that the lawmaker on March 15, 2022, declared his intent to occupy the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, after incumbent governor, Nasir el-Rufai’s tenure ends in 2023.
Sani had also made an on the spot donation of 59 cars in appreciation of the work of the state APC executives and local government chairmen, noting that he donated the “cars to them to help facilitate their work and motivate them to prepare for the 2023 electoral battle.”
While inaugurating the committee in the state capital on Saturday, the lawmaker, who is also the Senate Committee Chairman on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions, said the move was geared toward actualising his Kaduna State Consolidation and Continuity Project after el-Rufai’s tenure.
The Committee has the Mainan Zazzau, Prof. Muhammad Sani Bello, as Chairman with Hon. Benjamin Jock as Secretary.
The 47-member committee, which comprises 23 focal persons representing each of the 23 Local Government Areas of the state and 24 others drawn from the three Senatorial Zones of the state, are expected to give policy and strategic direction to the ‘Uba Sani Governorship Project,’ fashion and implement effective strategies to ensure his success at both the primaries and at the general election.
