The Katsina Police Command, on Sunday, warned that security agencies in the state had made adequate arrangements to forestall any trouble as Muslims, worldwide mark the end of 30- day Ramadan fast.
The command specifically warned that anybody who disguises under whatever name to foment trouble during the festive period would be visited with dire consequences.
According to the command in a statement by it’s spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, security personnel including the police patrol team had been empowered to arrest any trouble maker during the Sallah.
The command warned parents to monitor their children’s movements and the drivers to be mindful of passers- by.
It assured that security had been drafted to cover all Eid praying grounds; all popular recreational centres,major highways and other places of national importance across the state.
The Command also provided phone numbers that could be called in case of emergencies during the festive period.
The statement further read, “The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Idrisu Dabban Dauda, psc (+), fdc, wishes to felicitate with the people of the state on the occasion of Eidil-Fitr Sallah celebration.
“The Command in partnership with other sister organisations in the state, have put in place adequate security arrangements to ensure a hitch- free Sallah and Workers’ Day celebrations in the state. Personnel have been drawn from Conventional, Tactical and Logistical units of the Command and are strategically posted to cover all the Eid praying grounds in the state, recreational centers, business districts, major highways and other critical national infrastructure.
“The Command enjoins parents to look after their wards while motorists and other highway users are cautioned to exercise maximum restraint and avoid over speeding or other acts capable of endangering the lives and property of the good people of the state.
“The Command will arrest and deal decisively with any person or group of persons coming out in the name of Kauraye (Social Miscreant) to foment trouble during the period as police patrol teams have been adequately prepared to arrest them.
“The CP congratulates the Muslim Ummah on successful completion of this year’s Ramandan Fasting and wishes them happy Eidil Fitr Sallah celebrations. He urged them to continue to pray for peace and security of the state and the nation at large.
