Former beauty queen of oil-rich Egbema Kingdom in both Delta and Edo states, Miss Preye Soroghaye, has bemoaned underdevelopment in the community.
She said that Egbema kingdom deserved more government attention in view of its level of socio-economic and political contributions to the nation.
She also canvassed for girl-child education in the kingdom to make life more meaningful for females.
She particularly urged oil companies, those in position of authority and the state government to organise empowerment programmes aimed at girlchild development in the kingdom as well as provide basic social amenities in the Kingdom.
Miss Preye Love Soroghaye made the requedts on Wednesday in Sapele, Delta State while speaking with journalists.
She said, “We deserve a more developmental oriented Egbema Kingdom in view of the level of economic and political contributions of Egbema Kingdom to the Government.
“When the community’s contributions are compared to any form of development on the part of Government, it is nothing to write home about. Hence, something urgent need to be done about it.”
