A United States health firm, RISE Global Health Initiative has trained no fewer than 5,000 social health workers, in line with its primary objective of promoting equity in healthcare by establishing independent community-level health systems.
The founder of the firm, Dr. Franklin Okeke, made this known in Anaocha, Anambra State, on Tuesday, during the organisation’s 10th anniversary.
The NGO also claimed to have enrolled 240 epileptic patients in the state, to benefit from its 12-month free specialty care.
Okeke said the firm embarked on the initiative because it was critical to helping drive comprehensive and holistic healthcare delivery in society.
He said the clinic had initiated and executed landmark medical projects in Anambra and other parts of the country.
He said, “It has been 10 eventful years of comprehensive and holistic healthcare delivery in the tradition of Hippocrates, the acclaimed founder of modern medicine.
“We run a uniquely-equipped community-based medical facility with a view to ensuring an integrated healthcare delivery system centred on a community-care model.
“It is the consummate aim of RISE Clinic to enhance and sustain health and overall human development potential through excellence in interdisciplinary care and patient education.”
“The clinic assiduously strives to bring positive impact on the health and wellness of the Nigerian community by increasing access to healthcare and building local capacity.
“The RISE Clinic, Nigeria, in partnership with the RISE Global Health Initiative, USA, has the laudable mission to enhance and sustain health and overall human development potential through excellence in interdisciplinary care and patient education.
