One person was on Friday killed in an auto crash around the Long Bridge area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
It was learnt the accident occurred at about 11:30am when one of the tyres of a sports utility vehicle burst, causing the driver to lose control.
The SUV was said to have rammed into the median and fallen off the bridge.
The Federal Road Safety Corps, while confirming the incident on Friday evening, said a team of officers from Ibafo carried out a rescue operation at the scene of the lone accident.
It also identified the deceased, who was burnt to death, as an adult female.
The statement signed by the superintendent route commander and public education officer for the sector command, Florence Okpe, added, “A total number of six persons were involved, comprising two male adults and three female adults, and one male child. The number of people injured was five.
“The injured victims were taken to Emergency Hospital, Ojota, for medical treatment while the dead body was deposited at Divine Torch morgue, Ibafo.
The sector commander commiserated with the family of the crash victims and also enjoined them to contact the FRSC command in the Ibafo area of Ogun State for details of the crash and reclaim the properties of the victims recovered from the scene of the crash.”
