The management of the Nigeria Professional Football League side, Dakkada FC, has announced that the matchday 28 game between the club and Abia Warriors has been postponed due to the host’s preparation for the 2021/2022 CAF Confederation Cup final, next Friday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Uyo-based club made this known on their official Facebook page on Saturday.
Their home stadium the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium is the venue for the final of this year’s CAF Confederation Cup.
According to the club, the decision was to enable proper maintenance of the stadium ahead of Friday’s showdown.
“This is to inform our teeming supporters and indeed the general public that the NPFL matchday 28 fixture between Dakkada and Abia Warriors which was earlier scheduled for this Sunday has been re-arranged,” the club announced.
“This is because the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, the venue of the match, has been shut down for proper maintenance ahead of the hosting of the 2021/2022 CAF Confederation Cup final, next Friday.
“The fixture will now take place on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.”
Only three points separate both sides as Dakkada currently sit 17th on the log with 30 points while Abia Warriors occupy the 14th position with 33 points.
