Reno Omokri has called for the arrest and prosecution of religious extremists who murdered Deborah Samuel.
The former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan said if Buhari’s government could fish out the former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, it could arrest the man who allegedly burnt Deborah to death.
The former Presidential aide made the remark while sharing a photograph of the man alleged to have burnt Deborah to death in Sokoto on his Twitter handle.
According to Omokri: “If the Buhari administration was able to arrest a big fish like Maina in Niger Republic, they should equally be able to fish out this small fry. After all, Nigeria is building a $2 billion railway in Niger. Work on the railway should stop until he’s fished out.”
Deborah, a 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, was burnt alive for allegedly blaspheming against Prophet Mohammad.
Aggrieved by Deborah’s remark, some suspects attacked and burnt her alive.
Following the crisis that erupted, the prime suspect was said to have escaped to the Niger Republic.
However, the Sokoto State Police Command dismissed such a claim.
