A man, Tewogbola Olawale, was on Wednesday arraigned before a Yaba Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing alcoholic drinks valued at N1,700,000 at the Pen Cinema, Agege area of Lagos State.
The defendant was charged with two counts of conspiracy and stealing.
The charges read, “That you, Tewogbola Olawale, and others at large, sometime in October 2021 at Crysland Nigeria Limited, Pen Cinema, Agege area of Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony, to wit: stealing, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
“That you, Tewogbola Olawale, and others at large, on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid magisterial district, did steal pallets of Trophy Beer, valued at N1,700,000.00 property of Crysland Nigeria Limited, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, P.B. Nwaka, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N600,000 with three sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until June 29 for further hearing.
