The Special Adviser to Osun state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, on Civic Engagement, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has assured the electorate that the governor would not betray their trust if reelected.
Oyintiloye gave the assurance in Osogbo on Sunday at the N30 million fundraising ceremony organised by the Ebira Community where he represented the governor.
The governor’s aide maintained that Oyetola’s love for the masses, passion for their welfare, and the development of the state were some of the reasons people want him to be re-elected.
According to him, Oyetola’s decision to seek re-election was due to the confidence reposed in his administration by the electorate, adding that people had come to appreciate him since coming on board as governor.
A statement titled: ‘Why Osun residents want me re-elected -Oyetola’ obtained in Osogbo signed by Oyintiloye further reads, “Oyetola would not betray the trust of the people when re-elected.
“We urge the electorate not to allow those who lack basic knowledge of governance to deceive them.
“With the support of the masses, the governor is confident of victory. Campaign of calumny by the opposition parties will not stop his re-election.”
He also urged members of the Ebira community to continue to live in peace with their host communities.
The President of the group, Shaibu Abere, commended the governor for his love for the non-indigenes resident in the state.
