The National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress has constituted a 61-member Ekiti state governorship campaign council to be headed by Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, on Thursday in Abuja.
Argungu stated that the council will be inaugurated by the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, on Monday, 23 May, by 9am at the National Secretariat.
The 61-member council includes Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege; pioneer civilian governor of Ekiti State and minister of trade and investment, Adeniyi Adebayo; Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola; Governors Rotimi Akeredolu, Ben Ayade, Inuwa Yahaya, Abubakar Badaru, Simon Lalong and Hope Uzodimma, among others.
The Ekiti State governorship election is scheduled to be held on June 18, 2022.
