A former Commissioner for Local Government Chieftaincy Affairs, Liman Kantigi, has emerged winner of the Peoples Democratic Party governorship primary in Niger State.
This was made known when the Chairman of the State electoral panel and Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo announced the results in Minna on Thursday.
Ewhrudjakpo said out of a total of 808 delegates Kantigi who emerged winner got 667 votes while his closest opponent Sani Kutigi got 114 votes.
He added that Isah Jankara got 21 votes, Gimba Abdulrahaman got three votes, while Sidi Abdul polled zero votes.
Ewhrudjakpo also state that there were three invalid votes out of the 808 votes cast.
Responding, one of the aspirants who lost Sani Kutigi said he is satisfied with the conduct of the election and he will merge with the winner to work towards the success of the PDP at the general elections.
