Senator Sandy Onor has won the Peoples Democratic Party governorship primary in Cross River State.
Onor who represents Cross River Central Senatorial District, polled a total of 236 votes to beat six other aspirants to the ticket for the 2023 governorship election.
The senator representing the southern senatorial district of the state, Gershom Bassey, came second with 175 votes, followed by the House of Representatives member representing Akamkpa/ Biase Federal Constituency, Daniel Asuquo, who polled 147 votes.
Others were Arthur Jarvis Archibong, six votes; Nkoyo Toyo, four votes; Filia Henshaw, two votes and Ima Nsa Adegoke, one vote.
Below is the breakdown of the PDP governorship primary result in Cross River State on Thursday:
Gershom Bassey -175 votes; Sandy Onor -236 votes; Nkoyo Toyo- four votes; Ima Nsa-Adegoke -one vote; Arthur Jarvis -six votes; Daniel Asuquo -147 votes; Filia Henshaw -two votes; void votes -20; valid votes- 571; and total votes cast- 591.
