The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Primary Elections scheduled to take place in Taraba State yesterday, have again been postponed for today, Sunday.
The reason for the shift, according to the election committee, was owing to skirmishes they claimed to have met on arriving the State.
According to committee chairman, Dr. Mohammed Alkali “when we arrived, we discovered that result sheets were not made available to us from the APC National Secretariat.”
Apart from the aforementioned problem, the committee, as stated by them “discovered that the results sheets were earlier sent and recieved by the APC chairman but on our arrival, we were informed that they were vandalized.”
The committee chairman made the above revelations while briefing the media men in the early hours of today at the police command headquarters in Jalingo.
He said the resolution was reached at a meeting between the Electoral Committee and the critical stakeholders of the party.
He added that, “we had to call the National Secretariat. They were able to send us a soft copy for us to print and use for the primary elections.”
They also agreed that the indirect method of Primary election would be used in the three Senatorial Zones of the State.
