A veteran juju singer, Michael Adedayo, aka Micho Ade, says that though he has been singing professionally for 50 years, he is still not tired but is poised to even do more.
Ade, who is set to celebrate his 50 years on stage, told Sunday Scoop, “One ought to move forward in anything one does. After this 50-year milestone, I will continue waxing strong to make music that is even better than the ones I had done before. I am not tired at all.”
On the changes he would like to see in the music industry, the Ekiti State-born singer said, “The government is not supporting the industry like it ought to. Musicians do a lot to promote the country’s cultural heritage. On that note, we, musicians, are imploring the government to support us in terms of finance and other aspects, so that we can move forward.”
Sparing words of advice for young musicians, Ade said, “As a musician, one ought to have good songs that will inspire people positively. Nowadays, most of the songs out there portray youths doing things that will not help society to grow in a positive way. Negative songs should not be encouraged in society.”

Micho Ade also noted that he would want to be known as an artiste who always makes distinctive music. He added, “My music is quite different from others in terms of composition. I also take my music from a moral angle, and everyone knows me for that. I love making songs that can change people from bad to good.”
