Turkish giants, Galatasaray, have contacted Greek Champions Olympiakos for a loan deal for Nigeria international Henry Onyekuru, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Olympiakos paid €4.5m for Onyekuru last transfer summer from Monaco but are reluctant to keep the Nigerian following a series of poor performances last season and will be open to listening to offers for the winger.
Despite winning the league with Olympiakos, the 24-year-old had little impact in the team, averaging just 26 minutes in 14 league appearances.
The former Everton player made 27 appearances for the Greek outfit last season, scoring just one goal and assisted one.
Olympiakos are willing to let him go this summer with the player already linked with a return to the Turkish Super Lig.
According to Sportcell, Greek giants Galatasaray are looking to secure his services on loan this summer.
“Future offers on Olympiakos, Onyekuru are open,”the source wrote on Twitter.
“They are willing to loan him for lease with an option to buy.
“Galatasaray contacted Olympiakos. There is no official offer, but they are creating the conditions for the transfer.”
Should the deal go through, it would be Onyekuru’s third stint at the club, returning after he left Istanbul last January.Onyekuru enjoyed a great spell during his previous periods with Galatasaray, claiming two trophies with the club in 2019.
He made 71 appearances for the former Turkish champions, notching 22 goals and 12 assists.
