The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has advised students of Topfaith University, Akwa Ibom State, to shun anti-social behaviours.
Speaking at the university’s inauguration and first matriculation, Emmanuel, in a statement by the institution on Wednesday, commended the leadership of the university over the creativity, hard work and foresight that facilitated its success story.
Emmanuel who was represented by his deputy, Mr Moses Ekpo, said, “I charge you to replicate the values of the university in your daily lives.
“We (Akwa Ibom State Government) are ready to partner your university and be part of this unfolding greatness. You must turn away from anti-social behaviour to explore your full potentials for development.”
The statement revealed that the formal installation of the paramount ruler of Onna Local Government Area, Edidem Inyang, as the university’s Chancellor, took place during the matriculation of the 104 students admitted into the institution’s four faculties.
The chairman of the university’s Board of Trustees, Dr Emmanuel Abraham, said the university was set to assist students discover, develop and deploy talents.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Patrick Ebewo stressed the need for students to embrace the ethical standards promoted by he university towards the attainment of social progress.
Also, the Udom Emmanuel Block of the university’s Management and Social Sciences Faculty was inaugurated during the ceremony.
