Barely 24 hours after Hajia Laure Mai-Kunu, the aged mother of the Kano Central Senatorial District candidate, A. A Zaura, was kidnapped, operatives of the Department of State Services, on Tuesday, rescued her in far-away Jigawa State.
An unspecified number of unknown gunmen invaded Zaura town in Ungogo Local Government area of Kano State and kidnapped the mother of the All Progressive Congress senatorial candidate, on Monday.
The Chairman, Ungogo Local Government Area, Abdullahi Ramat, confirmed to The PUNCH on Tuesday that she had been rescued in Jigawa State.
Also, a top DSS operative, who declined his name in print, confirmed that their operatives rescued Laure and another aged woman, who was abducted for about 10 days.
