Multiple award-winning author, Chimamanda Adichie, has paid tribute to her father, Professor James Adichie, on the second anniversary of his death.
The Americana novelist took to her Instagram page on Friday where she shared a montage of pictures and videos of her father during his lifetime.
“May we all live today, really live, and may we all love fiercely and fully while we can,” she wrote in the caption. “Two years today. There is such sadness and emptiness. There is also gratitude.
“Daddy. The man. Odelora Abba. The Original Dada. DOS Defender of Spouse: I am so grateful for the precious gift of being your daughter. O nwero onye dika gi. Uwa m uwa ozo, i ga-abu nna m (There’s no one like you. In my next lifetime, you’ll be my father). ”
Adichie lost her father after a brief illness in 2020. Eight months after his death, her mother, Mrs. Grace Adichie, also passed on.
