Akwa United coach, Ayodeji Ayeni, is desperate to end his side’s three-game winless run when they host Remo Stars in a Nigerian Professional Football League game at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on Sunday (today), PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Promise Keepers’ last win was a 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes on May 22 after which they have lost two games; Heartland and Kwara United 1-0 respectively.
Ayeni’s side was also held to a 1-1 draw at home to MFM.
Speaking ahead of his side’s clash, the former Sunshine Stars coach said, “We need to start winning games to move up the in the table. It has not been good not getting results despite the good play of the team but we remain confident that we can turn things around.”
Akwa United are placed eighth in the NPFL log with 45 games from 32 matches.
