An alleged agent of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, has been arrested by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for vote-buying in the ongoing Ekiti State governorship election.
It was gathered that EFCC operatives arrested the suspect with a bag of cash as he was “inducing voters.”
The suspect said taken into custody at Ola Oluwa Grammar School on Ilawe Road, Ado Ekiti.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, while unveiling its partnership on Friday with anti-graft agencies, the EFCC and the ICPC, had warned of strict enforcement of rules against cash inducement of voters.
According to reports the police said its men would rely majorly on information gathering to tackle the menace of vote-buying and vote-selling during the Ekiti State governorship election.
