The Imo State Police Command has begun investigation into the shooting of a family of five in Okporo in the crisis-ridden Orlu Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesperson for the command, Micheal Abattam, told our correspondent that three of the victims had been confirmed dead.
He noted that the command swung into action upon receipt of a report on the incident.
According to him, the victims were shot during a family meeting.
Abattam said investigation would reveal the identities of those behind the act.
He said, “We have started investigation into the incident. They were in a meeting when they were shot. Investigation would unravel the circumstances behind the shooting. Let us wait for a report on the investigation.”
A video clip that had gone viral showed the victims in a pool of blood.
While two appeared to have died, the other three, which included two elderly men and a woman, called for help while in the throes of death.
