Ado-Doguwa also sought votes for himself to continue to represent the Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency; the governorship candidate of the APC in Kano State, Nasir Gawuna; the lawmaker representing the Kano South Senatorial District, Senator Kabiru Gaya; and other candidates of the party.
The Majority Leader made the call at his biannual empowerment of farmers in his constituency with fertiliser. “At least, 2,500 people have benefited from this initiative,” he noted.
The ranking lawmaker, in a video clip of the empowerment campaign sent to our correspondent in Abuja on Monday, was seen asking the crowd who they would vote for in the presidential election, in his constituency, for the governorship and for Kano-South and they chorused Tinubu, Ado-Doguwa, Gawuna and Gaya, respectively.
According to him, the people have spoken by making Tinubu the presidential candidate of the APC.
Ado-Doguwa said, “Like you all know, we do this every year to symbolise and show that our place is an agricultural production hub. Our elite, civil servants, business people and even our women are all farmers. This is what I proudly say anywhere, even at the Government House. This is a thing we should be proud of, because it is Doguwa and some parts of Tudun Wada that are called the food basket of Kano State.
“So, if the representative of this area is not proud of farming and refuses to help farmers or youths and party people to engage in farming, there is nothing else the representative of Doguwa/Tudun Wada will do to his people.
“We have had many similar gatherings in the past, which include youth empowerment programmes, women empowerment, while party members were equally taken care of in many ways. We have also commissioned many projects which include new and renovated classrooms in schools, hospitals, roads and provided social amenities to better the lives of our people. This is part of our efforts to provide dividends of democracy to the people as representatives of the people.
“However, like what the local government chairman stated earlier, we are here to repeat what we have been doing every year to the farmers and youths as well as women who are members of the APC in order to further encourage them to go back to farm.”
