Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have killed a suspected armed robber following a shootout at a robbery scene along Jesus Avenue, Umusadege Quarters, Kwale, in the Ndokwa West Local Government Area of the state.
PUNCH Metro gathered that following a distress call that a robbery operation was taking place in the locality, the Kwale Divisional Police Officer, CSP Godwin Igoche, mobilised and led the divisional anti-crime patrol team to the scene.
The suspects, on sighting the police, reportedly engaged them in a gun duel, during which one of the hoodlums sustained bullet injuries, while others escaped.
The injured suspect was later taken to a hospital, where he died.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, while confirming the incident, stated that one locally-made gun, four live cartridges, and four expended cartridges were recovered from the gang.
The PPRO said a manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang was ongoing.

Upon sighting the police, they reportedly abandoned the bike and took to their heels.
The security men were said to have given them a chase, leading to the arrest of two of the suspects.
Those nabbed were identified as Michael Reuben (29) and Odemba Onochie (30).
When searched, the police reportedly found in their bag 100 rounds of 7.62mm AK-47 live ammunition.
