Fielding questions from newsmen in Umuahia, Abarikwu said, “It’s the electorate that will decide the best candidate. Let them (those contesting for the seat) come out to tell the people what they have for them; their visions and records.
“The public will investigate and make their decision at the poll.”
Describing himself as an engineer that rose to become one of the leading engineers in California, United States, Abarikwu believed that he would win in 2023 and would be bringing in some innovations that will impact positively on the people if elected 2023.
He said that his positive ideas and blueprint which he had designed and planned to unveil to the constituency during the campaigns would give him an edge over other candidates as well as electoral victory in next year’s elections.
He explained that apart from making laws for the good governance of the country, he would run a transparent representation at the Green Chamber, and would develop a system where the grassroots would be in the know of major events that transpired in the Federal House every time.
“My representation of the constituency will not be limited to making laws, representation, and oversight functions alone, I will look beyond providing palliatives to some people in the constituency at some odd times,” he said.
Abarikwu maintains that what matters is what a candidate seeking for that office has to offer to better the lots of the constituency and not necessarily where he hails from.
“It’s my belief that the best candidate that will give the people quality representation should be elected.
“I won’t take it for granted that my opponents are moneybags, they have a lot of strong power base.
“There’s money politics in today’s Nigeria, but I decided to try because governance doesn’t belong to anybody or family,” he pointed out.
