Paradang who contested the governorship primary alongside 13 other aspirants scored only four votes while a former Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area, Caleb Mutfwang, emerged victorious with 253 votes.
In a statement on Wednesday, the former Immigration boss who spoke for the first time after losing the primary, said after reflecting on the outcome of the exercise, he had made up his mind not to quit the party but remain to rebuild the party to greater heights.
He said “To me, the rebuilding of Plateau State for the good of the citizens of my dear state was and is my vision, driving motive and force for running for the office of Governor.
“To actualize this, we engaged actively with party men and women, stakeholders and delegates and urged them to ensure that at a time like this, we partner to choose the best among aspirants, who has the ability and capacity to secure and rebuild our state. Knowing that this choice, its impact and its effects will live with us for the remaining years of the decade.
“I deliberately chose to be a member of this great Party in 2017 and got a ticket in 2019 to run gallantly for the Senate seat of Plateau Central. I will remain unshakeably a member believing the party has what it takes to secure and rebuild our state”.
He lamented that PDP in the state had deviated from the vision of the founding fathers of the party
Urging members to remain committed in the fight for the attainment of the cherished values and ideals of the party, the former Immigration boss enjoined the party’s candidate to rise above the confinement of overbearing cabals and work with all focus for an inclusive party and great Plateau state.
He added “All of us aspirants decided and chose to put our physical, emotional and financial resources to enter the arena and not remain on the fence for the worthy cause of making Plateau the best. I commend your love and passion for Plateau State. The job is not done. Together we can join hands with our candidate to kick start the process of Rebuilding a just, transparent, and inclusive party that can ultimately midwife the Plateau state of our dreams. God bless the PDP on the Plateau, God bless Plateau State and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria”
