Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, has said the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will not be an experimental president if elected, based on his dexterity and strong rooting in politics and administration.
The Ganduje stated this at the Governor’s Lodge, Aminu Kano House, Abuja, when he received an award presented to him by the National Coalition of Tinubu Support Groups Worldwide, comprising Nigeria, USA, UK, Canada, Ireland, Germany, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Oman, and UAE chapters.
The governor got the award for his leading role in Tinubu’s victory at the party’s primary election.
In a statement on Saturday by the Commissioner for Information, Mohammad Garba, the governor said given that Tinubu, as a governor, transformed Lagos State into the strongest economy in West Africa, Asiwaju’s presidency can best manage our diversity.
Ganduje pointed out that Asiwaju’s emergence at the primary election gave hope and encouragement that the party was set to win the 2023 election.
He also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for creating the enabling environment for the conduct of the primary.
He also expressed appreciation to the APC and its governors and other aspirants whom he said had expressed readiness to work with Tinubu for the victory of the party.
Earlier, the Convener and Global Director-General of the coalition, Dr Doyin Johnson, said the award was presented to the governor as a way of thanking him for the strategic role he played in the actualisation of an Asiwaju presidency.
Meanwhile, the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Samuel Anyanwu, on Saturday said the party would form the government at the centre in 2023.
At a town hall meeting in his country home at Amaimo, in the Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, Anyanwu said the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, would defeat the candidate of the APC, Ahmed Tinubu.
Anyanwu, also dispelled the speculation that his party would disintegrate because of the crisis rocking it.
He also urged Nigerians to get the Permanent Voter Card.
He added, “Atiku is the next president of Nigeria. Our party will defeat the APC. We are prepared to take over leadership. Our presidential candidate is prepared and will repair Nigeria.”
