Ebi was a member of the Falcons WAFCON squads in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018, winning the tournament four times in 2010, 2014, 2016 and 2018.
The defender has also featured in five World Cup finals, but is not yet done with competing at the highest level, and hopes to lead the African champions to next year’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The Nigerians face-off against South Africa in a potentially explosive Group C opening clash today and Ebi is happy they are playing their archrivals first at the tournament in Morocco.
“For me, it is a good thing that we are playing South Africa first. They are a strong team and that will make us strong and give our best from the very beginning.
“I have won this trophy several times, but I still have the hunger to win it, and also to go to a sixth World Cup. We will look first to pick up the World Cup ticket, and then the trophy.”
