Chief Gbagi, a former Minister of State for Education, lamented, saying “93.4 per cent of all the businesses in Delta State have relocated.”
Speaking at Uvwie Hall, Uvwie Local Government Area of the state, while addressing President-Generals of the 24 kingdoms under the aegis of Forum of Urhobo President-Generals, Chief Gbagi declared, “If I can be the largest private investor in Uvwie local government, then I can take investments to other parts of Urhobo land as well.”
“I have no other interest other than that of Urhobo’s. I am a patriot of Urhobo. My father was. And what my father bequeathed to me was the patriotism of Urhobo nation and that is what is making me struggle, nothing more,” he stated further.
Chief Gbagi, however, expressed concern over the alleged clandestine move by some individuals to force Urhobo into oblivion just as he appealed to the communities’ President-Generals to “make conscious efforts to correct the injustice.”
In response, the Chairman, Forum of Urhobo President-Generals, High Chief Godwin Notoma, expressed satisfaction with the SDP governorship candidate, whom he said had been the only party candidate who had identified with them even during his time as an aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party.
