Chioma, a former member of the state House of Assembly, announced his resignation to newsmen in Port Harcourt.
Hon. Chioma, who had yet to disclose his next political destination, said he could not remain in a party where “one man employs the governor for the benefit of one man.”
He was making a veiled reference to the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, who is the leader of the APC in Rivers State.
Speaking further, Chioma said he dumped the APC because of the failure of the party to reward handwork, describing the reward system as appalling.
“All those who sacrificed their political future for the good of the party have been abandoned. People, who are not worth being mentioned are nominated and given appointments.
“But those who merit the offices are sidelined for obvious reasons. For me the reward system is appalling. For now I have left the party,” he stated.
When asked which party he would be joining, he simply said, “I will tell you in a few days time.”
