Our correspondent reports that the 532 Gombe police constables are part of 9,989 that graduated from 16 training colleges across the country.
Commending the resolve of the 532 officers, Gombe State Police Commissioner, Ishola Babaita, urged them to show commitment to the state and country by ridding it of crime.
Babaita expressed his optimism through a statement made available to our correspondent by the Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar, that their recruitment would enrich police delivery in the state.
According to Babaita, the bedrock of policing is discipline, stressing that the success of police officers depends on the quality of discipline and professionalism exhibited.
The statement partly read, “These officers, who have undergone six months of intensive and rigorous training in basic, intermediate and advanced police studies, have been equipped with the requisite knowledge, appropriate skills and right attitude to make them effective in the discharge of their duties and meet up with the challenges of contemporary policing.”
Congratulating the newly graduated police constables at the State Headquarters, Gombe, who were selected from across the 11 Local Government Areas of the state, Babaita added “They are to be dedicated, diligent, smart and patriotic to serve their father land, as they will be posted back to their respective Local Government Areas for police duties.”
