The Kano State Consumer Protection Council has confiscated 487 sacks of expired flour at a warehouse in Dawanau Market in the metropolis.
The Public Relations Officer of the agency, Musbahu Yakasai, stated this in a statement in Kano on Tuesday.
According to Yakasai, the Acting Managing Director of the council, Dr Baffa Dan’Agundi, disclosed the seizure in his office after the recovery of the flour on Sunday.
Dan’Agundi was quoted as saying some residents tipped-off the council about the flour.
He noted that the council confirmed that the flour had expired after conducting a laboratory test of some samples.
He called on the public to always check product information of goods before using them.
