Magistrate Tanko Muhammed dismissed the suit against Amini Udoka and Emmanuel Larry, with case No: CMCL/123m/2021 after suffering series of adjournment.
The PUNCH had reported that the state Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Edeh, said the two persons were arrested on April 5, 2021, for allegedly embarking on a smear campaign against the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), in Lokoja, the state capital.
They were reportedly beating up by some hoodlums and spent 78 days in detention before being granted bail.
Speaking with our correspondent, one of the accused, Udoka, said, “this is the first phase of the victory, we will be filing a fundamental human rights abuse suit.”
He noted that they had suffered serious psychological effects of the case, adding that he was also having some health challenges due to the arrest.
