According to transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, Bassey arrived in Amsterdam on Sunday afternoon to undergo medical tests ahead of his transfer to Eredivisie champions.
Ajax have already agreed to pay Scottish Premiership giants, Glasgow Rangers €22m plus €5m add-ons for the versatile defender.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a phenomenal rise to stardom following a number of standout performances in the Europa League.
