The National Youth Service Corps, Gombe State, says it is expecting about 1600 prospective corps members at the temporary orientation camp in Amada, Akko Local Government Area.
Recently, the batch B stream I corps members passed out of the mandatory three-week course, making room for the stream II, whose orientation exercise would commence from July 20 to August 9, 2022.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Head of the Public Relations Unit, Dakama Iliya, which was signed on behalf of the State Coordinator, Ada Imoni, the prospective corps members were advised to comply with the COVID-19 safety protocols.
The statement partly read, “The Management of the National Youth Service Corps has approved the conduct of the 2022 Batch B Stream II Orientation Course to hold from Wednesday July 20 through Tuesday August 9, 2022.
“Gombe State is expecting 1,600 Prospective Corps Members to report at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada, Gombe State, on assigned dates for ease of the registration process and compliance to the COVID-19 safety protocols.”
While praying for a hitch-free orientation course, she solicited for the usual cooperation and support of stakeholders, urging the prospective corps members to comply with measures set aside to protect them from the transmission and contacting of the COVID-19.
“All extant procedures for the registration of prospective corps members with strict observance of physical distancing still stand.
“Participants will undergo the COVID-19 Rapid Diagnostic Test before entry into the camp. No one will be allowed into the Camp without passing through the COVID-19 screening and testing at the camp gate,” the statement added.
