The North Central Coordinator, Tinubu Support Organisation, Mallam Yinka Oniyangi, has said that the weekend defeat of Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, by the candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke, in the Osun state governorship election will not affect the chances of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress in the 2023 election.
The Osun State governorship PDP candidate, Adeleke, was declared the winner of the Osun state governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission after he defeated Oyetola.
Adeleke polled 403,371 votes while Oyetola scored 375,027 votes in the keenly contested election.
Hosting members of the Tinubu support group and APC stakeholders in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Sunday, the North Central Coordinator of TSO, Oniyangi, said that the defeat of the APC candidate in the Osun governorship election will not affect Tinubu’s emergence as the winner of next year presidential election.
He said, “What happened in the Osun governorship election is a lesson to all of us, but Asiwaju Tinubu’s accountability measurement is different from the state measurement given his success when he was governor of Lagos State. I’m very confident that is not going to have any effect, especially on the 2023 presidential election.
“The Osun State politics is about accountability and performance of the governor. Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu is measured on his performance in his past records as governor of Lagos State, and the narrative has not changed. He has the 5Cs.
“What are the 5Cs? He has the capacity, capability, consistency, commitment, and creativity. Those five Cs can be assured that the narrative will not change. We also have to measure where we were before and where are we today. What is happening to Nigeria today is global nobody is perfect. I can tell you that APC has performed well.
“You can’t separate an individual from his lifestyle. I’m here today to celebrate with my supporters. I can’t separate my identity from my company where I earn my income, my Identity as North Central Coordinator for Tinubu support organisation. People will use your opportunity to also sell their brand.
“We are sensitising the people on the need to vote for our candidate, Asiwaju Tinubu, and Sensitization is ongoing, and we will still do more,” he said.
Also at the occasion were Alhaji Mohammad Dantoro, the Galadima of Borgu, Mallam Yahaya Seriki, APC stalwart, and Hon Raphael Adetiba, Deputy Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly.
