The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested a suspected notorious armed robber in Yenagoa, the state capital.
A statement on Monday by the spokesperson for the State Police Command, Asinim Butswat, identified the suspect as Keme Azorobor.
He said that a locally made firearm loaded with live ammunition was recovered from the 27-year-old suspect.
According to him, the suspect was apprehended during a clearance operation by the operatives of the command’s anti-kidnapping unit at Otiotio Road on Sunday, July 24.
Butswat claimed that Azorobor had been on the wanted list of the command for various armed robbery incidents in Yenagoa and environs.
“The suspect was searched and a locally made pistol loaded with one live cartridge was recovered from him.
“He has confessed to the level of his involvement in various armed robbery cases being investigated against him and his cohorts, now at large.
“Investigation is ongoing to arrest his gang members and bring them to book,” the statement said.
