Victor Osimhen has revealed that Napoli President, Aurelio de Laurentiis, will decide his future at the club this summer amid reports of interest from several top European clubs, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Nigeria international, who is believed to be valued by his Italian outfit in excess of £90m is thought to be on the radar of Manchester United, Arsenal Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Despite these offers, Osimhen has debunked suggestions that he could leave Napoli insisting that he is “very happy” at club and is not currently interested in seeking pastures new.
“I’m in Napoli,” he told Corriere dello Sport.
And I have great respect for my club. They are just rumours of the market. I’m fine here and I’ve never had such close relationships with everyone as at this moment.
“I spoke to the president, he is the one who decides, and he reassured me by explaining the club’s plans. I am happy with what he told me and the purchases are of quality, words were followed by deeds. I am very happy to play with Napoli and we will see in the future.”
The Nigerian who has scored 28 goals and provided nine assists in 62 matches for Napoli since making the move from French giants Lille in September 2020 labeled Luciano Spalletti, as the ideal coach for him.
“He is a top coach, every day he tries to motivate me and make me make the most of the potential I have,” Osimhen added.
“I think he is the ideal coach for me at this stage, he is one of the reasons why I always give my best. I am happy when he is satisfied with my performance.”
The 23-year-old was in strong form for Napoli during the 2021/22 campaign, scoring 18 goals and registering six assists in 32 appearances in all competitions.
